Getting a custom, unique piece made is a fun, easy process. The best thing about Lily Grace Jewellery is it's just me! I am the jewellery consultant, gemmologist, diamond grader, designer, artisan jeweller, engraver and setter so there is no miscommunication or angst that the piece will not be what you dreamed of. Jewellery is meant to represent our lives, the moments in time we cherish. I want you to look at your piece and love it always.
First and foremost, a budget is one of the first considerations with custom jewellery, as the sky really is the limit! You can have a $100,000 piece or a $3,000 piece made. It is important to know where you are comfortable in the spectrum.
Next thing to consider is the occasion, gemstone, design or just type of piece. This is the why?
With this budget and idea in mind, I go through various design options, narrowing it down to your aesthetic.
I have a large collection of gemstones in stock, but can also get any gemstones in from around the world. If it is available, I can get it. Most people aren't aware of the different spectrum of colours available with certain gemstones. Sapphire is not always blue, tourmaline comes in every colour including slices that literally look like a watermelon, seed and all.
The other thing to consider is what type of piece is it, as some gemstones are not as suitable for hard wearing pieces like rings. There are so many beautiful, breathtaking gemstones that are suitable for unique designs despite not being durable enough for a ring or bangle. This is where pendants and earrings reign supreme.
Once you have decided on the stone and design, I draw it up to your design, quote the piece, and a 50% deposit is required to begin. Then it is generally 6-8 weeks depending on the time of year before your own, truly unique, quality handmade piece is ready for you to either collect or for me to send to you!
